My Replay box started doing strange things so I tried to shut it off and I'm
not having any luck. I even unplugged it from the wall and then plugged it
back in and it comes back on with the button lit. I then pressed the button
and held it till the fan stopped running but when I released it the box came
back on. Is there any hope of saving this box?

Thanks,
Ken

Is there any output on the a/v outs? Is it lifetime?

This is normal behavior.

A Replay is always on if plugged in, and will record shows
(indicated by a red light) even if the blue light is not on.

Turning the Replay "off" with the remote stops the signal to the
monitor screen, but does not turn off the Replay unit.

In short, the only way to switch it off is to unplug it or
(obviously) otherwise switch off 110 V AC power to it.

It is not normal for the power light to be on in standby mode.
